The short version

Starlink in Australia costs from $75 to $139 a month, with hardware around A$549–599 outright or a $15/month kit rental plus $19 shipping. It was independently measured at 199.1 Mbps in busy hours and 26.7 ms latency. NBN Sky Muster, the geostationary alternative, delivered 78.5% of plan speed at 658–663 ms — about 25 times slower to respond, because it orbits 65 times further out. Amazon Leo begins service once 578 satellites are in orbit, and NBN has contracted it to replace Sky Muster for 300,000+ premises, with the bulk of migrations targeted for late 2027.
